The Dover Spouses’ Club will be holding its 38th annual Craft Show fundraiser on Saturday, November 5, 2022, 9 am to 4 pm at Polytech High School in Woodside, DE. In years past our craft show was held at the Harrington Fairgrounds, so please note the location change.
We are offering booster clubs, private organizations, non-profits, and local independent food establishments the opportunity to set up a food booth at our Craft Show Food Court for a booth fee of $65. All profits from your food booth belong to you.
Dover Air Force Base applicants (FSS registered Private Organizations or Special Activity Groups only) will have a priority application period from September 26th at 9 am to September 30th at 4 pm. Applications will open to non-base applicants beginning October 3rd at 9 am. Base applicants may continue to apply after the 30th. Applications will close once all spaces have been filled.
If you are accepted to the Food Court, payment by check, money order, or PayPal will be due within 7 days.
In an effort to maximize your organization’s profits and ensure variety, the DSC requires each booth to sell a different main course from other booths. Each booth may also serve a different main course for breakfast and lunch. Approval for your selection will be determined on a first come, first served basis. We are accepting only 5 food booths this year in order to protect your profit margin.
Previous great sellers include: coffee/doughnuts, hot dogs/hamburgers, sub sandwiches, pizza, sweets (especially funnel cakes), and Rita’s. In the past, partnering with a business has led to very successful sales. However, we encourage your group to be creative and to develop a business plan that you feel will be the most successful and profitable for you.
This year we’ll have around 90 vendor booths and anticipate around 2,500 shoppers, so plan accordingly. Setup begins as early as 6 am. You should be ready to sell by 8:30 am so that vendors and staff have a chance to get food and drinks before doors open at 9 am. You may not begin tear down until after 4 pm.
Your indoor booth space will be 10 ft deep x 15 ft wide and located in a gymnasium foyer. The DSC will provide 2 tables (30” x 96”) for your booth. Bathrooms next to the food court will be utilized for hand-washing, and the DSC will provide a 3-container system near your booth for washing and sanitizing cooking/serving supplies.
REQUIREMENTS: All food must be prepared and cooked in either a licenced kitchen or on-site at Polytech following strict health and safety guidelines. Food may not be prepared or cooked in a non-licenced home kitchen. If you would like to use a barbecue grill supplied by your organization, you will need to operate it outside the building and provide your own pop-up tent for the grill to operate under. Electric hook-ups are available in your booth, but you must provide heavy-duty extension cords. Each person working in the food booth the day of the Craft Show must complete a public health certificate form prior to the day of the show and wear a hair net at all times. Signs should be posted at your booth listing the items for sale and their prices. Decorations are encouraged to attract customers, and you may even have a mascot in costume.
A representative from your organization will be required to attend a mandatory food court meeting in Oct to complete required paperwork, receive Public Health guidelines, finalize details, and answer questions.
Thank you for supporting the Dover Spouses’ Club. Our Craft Show raises at least $15,000 annually, and the DSC uses all proceeds to award scholarships to Dover AFB dependents and for donations to base organizations and local/state/national charities. Please keep our Welfare department in mind for your organization’s future needs, and we always welcome new potential members at our club’s monthly Socials. The DSC is a united organization open to all spouses and partners of active duty, guard, reserves, and retired military members of all military branches, as well as spouses and partners of civilians working for the Armed Forces at DAFB.
APPLY HERE. Applications received before 0900 on 26 Sep will be dismissed.
